Dispatch Staff Attend APCO Western Regional Conference & Wellness Summit
In early march, two members of HCFA’s staff attending the APCO Wellness Summit & Western Regional Conference and In Portland Oregon.
The Wellness Summit brought people together to tackle the pressing challenges that today’s telecommunicators face, from the health impacts of shift work to the often-overlooked influence of your work environment on overall well-being. The Wellness Summit included a distinguished panel of experts from across the emergency telecommunications field to discuss key issues and answer questions on topics that impact not only immediate health, but also the long-term wellness of employees, even beyond their time in the ECC.
The APCO Western Regional Conference, held from March 4 to 6, 2025, at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland, Oregon, brought together public safety communications professionals from across the western United States.
The conference featured three keynote speakers, including Elizabeth Smart, who shared her inspiring story of resilience and advocacy following her abduction in 2002.
Attendees had access to over 60 educational sessions across six tracks, covering topics such as public safety technology, operations, and management. A two-day exhibit hall showcased the latest industry products and services, providing opportunities for hands-on learning and networking.
The conference also offered various social and networking events, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing among professionals dedicated to advancing public safety communications.
